I was at a high school a while back redesigning their weight room for them. While I was there the truck came in with their flooring. They had ordered 4 x 6 foot 3/4" rubber mats. I had time so I helped them unload the truck and carry the mats into the gym. I grabbed the first one and started walking toward the gym. When I looked back I saw 3 seniors struggling to carry one mat.
Do you remember being that weak? LOL, I obviously sat down and wrote out a workout program for their athletic director that the kids could follow. But still... kids are so weak at that age. They may have muscle size but it sure isn't developed yet.
My question is, how far back do you remember? Can you remember what age you were and what you did the first time you were in the gym?

I do...back in my early college days I could barely bench 135 for a max. But boy was I lean...haha.
So what is it you do for a living, T? In all your stories you are doing something off the wall for work.

I answered your question but then thought better of it. Marty has taught us very well what can happen when nasty people on the internet get too much information about you. He's also taught us that you don't have a clue who that person will be. One day they are a friend and in his case a fellow mod I believe. The next day they're trying to ruin you.
Let's just say I like many others enjoy doing a main job and own two other companies on the side. I also teach.
For those who were able to read the other reply I'd appreciate it if you kept that information to yourself.

Man, do I ever remember being that weak. Strong for my size...... maybe. But as a 10 grade 98lb wrestler, how strong can that be? I was 38 before my strength peaked. I never saw a 400lb bench press, but I earned every bit of a 345 press after all those years.
From 16 to 36 I doubled my body weight. 5' 7" From 98lbs to 212 @ 12% bf. Not everyone gets to be a contender but I am still pretty proud of that accomplishment.

I DEFINITELY remember that age/status...
In highschool I weighed about 160-170lbs and I was a weakling....I remember lifting weights a few times but nothing ever serious.
I didn't start lifting seriously until my 2nd year in college....wish I'd started earlier.
I see guys in the gym today who are just starting out and I pull for them...I hope they stick with it...
I remember thinking that a 225 bench press was unachieveable to me....then it was 250lbs....I remember being stuck trying to get 250lbs for a LONG time. Then once I overcame the 250 hump, it was the elusive "300"....that took me a long time too. It seemed like once I hit 300 the numbers jumped off the charts and I almost jumped straight to 405.
I never in my dreams figured I'd be able to bench press 405 for 2 reps like I did a few years back when I was at my strongest.
Doubt I could lift that now but just saying that I did it in my lifetime is cool to me.

I don't remember but what I do know is that whenever I'm sick like I'm now, I have no strength nor energy and I feel lousy!

I was less than half my size that I am today. I remember thinking that putting 45lbs. on a bar was a big deal at age 14, damn near 15.
At the time, I didn't realize how weak I was.

I started weight training in 7th grade. At the time I was much weaker than the other kids in my class. Benching 50 lbs was a big deal. By 12th grade I was benching 300 lbs. I have been strong ever since.
