was anyone else watching that documentary this morning (or afternoon, depending on where you are) i believe it was called "Super Hero Geneticsa" quite interesting.

it touched on many subjects in regards to bodybuilding, strongman, powerlifters, as well as many interesting studies and theories.

they can now block the mystatin gene, with no mistakes. they should a pic of an average mouse (which weighs 24gms) the myostatin gene mouse weighed 43gms!!!!! this is going to be very beneficial to people with "muscular distrophy" and are very close to a cure

he(the researcher) also mentioned that he was once approached by a HIGHSCHOOL football coach and asked if he could do this procedure to his young players

he then touched on something VERY interesting, a theory on the aging process. they think they have figured it out.

this reseacher believes that after the human body is no longer usable for pro-creation, it then starts to age, their logic?

we are here to procreate, nothing more, nothing less.

so, they took a swarm of fruit flies that he prevented from breeding until older. after 4 or 5 generations, these fruit flies were living to be (what would be an equivalant in human years) 150 years old

this make so much sense, if any of you know about Suzanne Sommers book regarding hormones, she was actually IN menopause and with the help of a endocrinologist pulled herself out of it and regained a regulare cycle. the book is very good, i think guys would enjoy it too.

one more part i would like to mention. they now have a metal that is 10 times stronger than titanium, and they are able to replace bones in the body, right down to the femur. for children, the "device" can be passed through a metal ring and it will grow longer as the child grows.

i hope someone else got to see it...

Interesting. Also concerning. Studies have shown that girls, especially black and latino, are now reaching the breeding age YEARS earlier than they were in the past. According to this theory they are going to be dying at a younger age.

damn I wish i would have caught that. that whole idea seems pretty cool but it also kind of worries me at the same time. if its just an operation and highschool football caoches are talking about it for there players already how extreme and readily available is this going ot get?

it seems that all of this up and coming generation is maturing at a faster rate than it was when i was young. girls getting their period before the age of 12 or 13 were rarely heard of, now, girls are reaching puberty as early as 10!

between 15-16 was the age of puberty among myself (and girls in my age group)

hopefully, this study starts PROVING once and for all the HRT isn't a BAD thing, maybe more doctors will start reviewing and re-assessing their opinion on hormones....

dumbass :sub

i think if you were to hold off on children to the later years (30's), your life expectancy will be longer (by theory) and you WILL pass that genetic coding on to your children and so on, each generation would live a little longer.

looks great as a theory, now if it actually would work on humans is another story, we are set up MUCH different than fruit flies..
