It will never happen. Congress will never pass an amendment that will lessen their power, which is just what would happen if the executive branch (the president) was not subject to term limits.

Besides, I thought that you believed our elected officials were just shams anyway, appointed by some super secret organization of big business concerns.

First of all, if the amendment were to be repealed, there would still be presidential elections. The only change would be that a president would not be limited to two terms in the future. So, the money would still be spent every four years, just as they were prior to it being passed by congress in 1947.

Also, not to be picky, but it was two planes, not three that hit the WTC. The third hit the pentagon. As for the posibility of that being forseen, I guess you have not read much of Tom Clancy. In his book, Debt of Honor, published in 1994 (yes 11 years ago), he presents a scenario in which a pilot flys his jet into a joint session of congress, killing virtually every member of congress, the president and the supreme court. So yes, it has been envisioned in a work of fiction, long before the reality of the WTC.

as for the repeal of the amendment, it look like a try to get bush 4 more years... thats what i take of it, and as far as i am concerned thats the last thing we need is more of this quagmire the he has got us all in, with his bullshit and lies, how many billions of dollars and how many thousands of lives, its way past ridiculous, and for what, your not going to make it a more stable place......

You think this country has turned out to be what the founding fathers intended? I'm not so sure about that.

I think ive mentioned this before but I belive in one rule "one persons rights end where anothers begin". If you want to juice and it doesnt hurt anybody than by all means go for it. if you want to ride a motorcycle without a helmet than do it. who else does it hurt or risk? I personally think our founding fathers wouldnt approve of the way society is today. people are just to eager to grab more and more for themselves they dont realize that they're changing america as a whole. they put laws banning sit-ups for school children and than organizations complain about children being obese. than a guy wont let his son eat pizza and puts him on strict bodybuilding training and they call him a child abuser. not cool.

There have been over 100 proposed amendments to the Constitution introduced each session of Congress going back at least to the 102nd (1991-1992).

A proposed amendment to repeal the 22nd amendment was introduced in the 102nd congress. This was when the Democrats had the majority in both the House and Senate If they were part of a conspiracy to keep Bush senior in office past a second term, it didn't work out very well for them. The last amendment to be ratified was the 26th back in 1992.

I'd be willing to bet my life savings that an amendment to repeal the 22nd amendment would not be ratified.
