I went to the barber the other day and I tipped him two bucks. I remembered seeing the post on tipping pizza people and was wondering if I'm tipping enough for the barber. So I decided to make a post on here. let my know what I think. Cause I go to this barber who's been doing this for his whole life and I wouldn't want to be pissing him off.

I'm good family friends with a salon owner, so I don't pay nor tip.

depends on how the job is. usually, I go $5....again just because its how they make a living and I would appreciate the same in return. Plus, its not like you need a haircut everyday so a nice tip for a good person is a great jesture in my opinion.

Don't be cheap with your barber. He/she can make you look great...or not. I usually give $ 5 bucks in tips. I go to the same guy and he knows me and how I want my hair done. It's more than 30% but what the hell. He does a good job and $5 is not a big deal. Makes us both happy.

I've been cutting my own hair for years. But when i did pay I nomally gave two; if she was hot and pressed her rack into my neck or pressed that pussy against my hand i'd go five. :)

Me Too. But I still don't see why the fuck you have to tip people who set a price and you pay it. I mean, you've already paid what they asked! Waitering is different b/c they make about $2 an hour, but fuck if I want to pay even more when I've been overcharged to begin with!

Damn you guys are some cheapo's. My hair cut cost $15 and I give a $10 tip on top of that. And my hair grows like crazy so I need a cut every 3 weeks. But I am real picky about my hair and I have been going to the same girl only for a while now, I don't change often unless theres a reason. Last Girl I dated and when it ended I went else where. Anyways your stylist can really screw you so make sure you take care of them.

Hair cut costs $13 and I tip $3. Hell, it only takes her 15-20 minutes so she's not doing so bad...

Dk3k - do you really think $13 for 15 minutes of work deserves a tip? That's $52 per hour! :was

Guys, most stylists only get 45%-50% of what is charged the rest goes to the owner of the salon. As far as prorating the charge to the hour some girls or guys for that matter aren't booked with people every 15 mins and have to sit there and wait for someone to show up ,and they don't get paid while waiting. I usually tipped 5.00 for a 15.00 haircut till I married a stylist.

Ive always believed if the barber owned the shop then they shouldnt get a tip since they are making 100% of the money. Like Fina said that the worker only gets usually 50% and the owner is making the other 50% so I would tip my barber usually 3 dollars or so.

Now I shave my head myself and get it done in about 10 minutes. The secret is to shave it with a mach 3 about 3 times a week so there is barely nothing there to shave and you just whip right through with shaving.

Here in Philly you have the oriental haircut places here that charge only $5 for a haircut.

She's been cutting my hair for over 20 years and she's not had an easy life so I don't mind giving her a few extra bucks.

Ya I guess that makes sense. But like Fish said, I never tipped my barbers cause they owned the place and were only open a few days per week. Now I shave it clean but I still dislike tipping unless it is a similar situation.
