Hey guys, just wanted to give everybody a heads up, because I've been off here for about 2 weeks or so. I was deathly ill with the flu and I am now finally getting back into things. Just to give you an idea, I was 220 before the sickness, and I am down to 200. I've just finally beginning to eat solid foods and getting up to 3 meals a day.

Just wanted to let everyone know, when you start to feel yourself coming down with something, don't ignore it, but do something about it. I kept letting it go and finally I was so run down, my body just kinda quit on me. I'm looking forward for next week to start lifting again, but got a quick question regarding how I should begin my training after such a long and exhausting delay.

I can totally relate bro, I'm just getting over being quite sick myself. Not as bad as it sounds you had it but it was bad enough. Glad to hear your feeling better, as for your training just use common sense. You'll have lost alot of strength so start off light with higher reps for the first week or 2 even. Just use your head and you'll be back up to par in no time.

As soon as I get an inkling of something, the C, B's, and zinc go up. I hate being sick. On top of making you feel like shit, most people can't afford to get sick. Just too much shit goin on. Hell, if I didn't have to sleep life would be great.

Everyone around here is dropping like flies. Except me. I felt it just starting to come on yesterday. Sore throat, a tiny queezy... I went right out and picked up some Airborne (www.airbornehealth.com) and some Zicam. I get the Zicam Rapidmelt tablets and pop one every three hours. BLAM! I feel great today.

Working out is great after you've been sick. You don't have to push hard at all. In fact you can't because you're so damn weak. But really you are going to gain at the same pace if you kill yourself or if you take it easy. So why the hell not take it easy and enjoy the light workout??? There's plenty of time to train like an animal after you've gotten your strength back.

:mischief: Has anybody noticed that we don't have any weight lifting smilie guys? We need some of those.

if you got what i got the second time, you will get a nasty cough that sticks around for a while, that makes you feel like you want to puke when you break that nasty stuff up at the top of your lungs and your throat. makes you gag for a second until you spit that crap out. drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated, and up your vitamin c and zinc.

Damn Bro, glad to see you are on the road to recovery. I guess the only advice is to take it slow back in the gym. When I got sick last year, I had to do the same thing, it was like starting from scratch. Good luck, good to see you again.

P.S.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I'm excited about getting back into it, but I also don't want to run myself down again. I'll be starting light like back in the old days, but it'll give me a chance to really concentrate back on my form because I know the heavier I go sometimes form gets a little sloppy.
