A Review of the Facts
John Kerry, who relentlessly calls our president a liar, has yet to come up with one lie that our president has actually told. However, John Kerry has been caught in too many lies to count. Early on in his campaign John Kerry made a plea to President Bush to join him in rising above the name-calling. He asked this after he, along with John Edwards and the rest of the presidential hopefuls, had an extensive run of doing nothing more than bashing the president by calling him every name in the book. Recently John Kerry and Edwards attended a fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall with Hollywood’s finest in attendance. The dialogue used in their speeches was so vulgar and hateful that it can’t even be aired on regular television.
Kerry recently gave a speech where he stated that he would fight to build a strong military. I find this exceptionally hard to believe considering he has voted against anything that strengthened our military during his time as a Senator. In the same speech he also said he would lead strong alliances so that young Americans are never put in harms way because we insisted on going it alone. I am not sure what he means by this statement. If the United Nations said its OK for us to go to war does that in itself make war a safer endeavor? Both John Kerry and John Edwards were 100% behind the war effort and Edwards even went so far as to say he would go in without UN support. After they discovered that our intelligence was lacking as to the whereabouts of the W.M.D’s they conveniently changed their stance on the war to seem as if they never supported it in the first place and went on to say that our President deceived us all so he could lead us into an ill conceived war with Iraq. If you read the facts you have to surmise that this simply is just not true. These same people would have the American public and other nations believe that President Bush could’ve prevented the attacks on 9/11. These are the same people that cast no blame on the previous administration even though there were many missed opportunities to change the course of events that lead up to that fateful day in our history. They are also the same people that will blame the President if we do become victim to another attack.
It was not President Bush’s fault we were attacked on 9/11, nor was it our intelligence agencies. It was a well-organized well-funded group of terrorists driven by hatred of a free society. Due to the appeasement posture taken by the previous administration these terrorists were allowed to grow in numbers right before our eyes. In the years preceding President Bush’s inauguration, this same group launched several unanswered attacks on the US and even took over the government of a small middle eastern nation that has since been liberated by the brave men and women of the United States Military. The ultra-accepting liberals in our country allowed our enemies to repeatedly spit in our face and the face of the world. The call for war from our enemies simply went unanswered. These same liberals lined the streets when the UN was held up by a few countries (France, China, Germany, and the Former Soviet Union) to reach a unanimous vote to go to war and screamed that Saddam needs more time to comply. After 12 years it was obvious that he didn’t take anyone seriously, or that he felt comfortable enough with his criminal allies not to comply. With all the corruption surfacing from the oil for food program it easy to understand why these countries didn’t want to go to war with Saddam. They were getting rich from him with back door deals that in the end will expose all them as they truly are. In spite of the many resolutions regarding Saddam, all unanimously signed by the countries represented in the United Nations (including France, China, Germany, and the Former Soviet Union). These supposed allies of the free world were selling weapons and providing aid to a tyrant. France, China, Germany, and the Former Soviet Union clearly are not our allies.
Now getting to the war in Iraq. The burden of proof for compliance was on Saddam, not the US or the UN. To deny Saddam ever had a weapons program would be to deny the sky is blue. Saddam showed himself to be a terrible threat to the world. Even though many Americans have a short-sited view of the circumstances that lead us into the war with Saddam, it was ultimately his own arrogance that got him where he is today. Whether or not he had weapons stockpiled, we know he had them before and had the programs in place to design and manufacture them.
I, for one, am thankful that our President had the courage to draw a line in the sand and the conviction to take him down by force when he crossed it. Thanks to our great President, the brave men and women of our fighting forces, and the courage of the Iraqi people Saddam will never again stand in a palace, in defiance of the world, freely torturing and killing people. John Kerry and John Edwards only have a vision for their own future, not yours and mine. They will begin the appeasement process over again and weaken us to the point of needing to ask permission to do what we think is necessary to defend our boarders as well as our interests abroad. As the most powerful nation in the world we must lead and not falter. We must defeat our enemies and defend the weak from evil tyrants. We must seek out ways to make America a great and respected nation that leads with honor and dignity. We must honor the brave men and women that have given their life for the freedoms that we enjoy by staying the course of honor and morality. It is time to take a good look at where we have come from and which way we are heading. We are getting back on track. It is our duty to make sure that the ultra accepting left is not allowed to destroy everything we honor and hold sacred.
We must ask ourselves if we’ve gone too far in trying to be fair to everyone when it starts taking away from a decent society. Political correctness has disabled us from clear thought and communication. America has the right leadership in place (no pun intended) to keep us on the path of correcting some of the flaws that have developed in our society under the previous administration and the extreme left. It is time for us all to get informed of the facts as they are and not as they are being presented to us by prime time or late night TV. It is your responsibility to get informed and get to the polls and cast an educated vote. It is a right that people fought and died for. It is a right that many people of the world will never know. To take it for granted is a disgrace to our history as a free nation. Stand up and fight, America!
I will see you at the polls!
