View Full Version : I Robot
T-Bar 07-15-2004, 05:44 PM I can't wait until this movie comes out!!! It is going to kick ass!!! The only thing that makes me nervous is that I have yet to see a review on it. That's not a good sign. It also cracks me up to think of Will Smith as a hero, but still there's going to be robots and chicks and guns. What more could you want?
They start playing it at midnight here, but I can't keep my son out that late so we're going to have to wait until noon tomorrow to see it. I'm going to suck down a big ol bucket of popcorn!
Bad part is I have to sneak out because there a chick, who thinks she's my girlfriend, that wants to go with us. That ain't happen'n. You don't take chicks to action movies. They always want to talk at all the wrong times. Why can't people shut the hell up during a movie???
:saw
billy732 07-15-2004, 05:50 PM Dude I like to see movies by myself. I definitely cannot take a woman. No matter what kind of damn movie it is. First they say something. Then they're all like "What did he just say?" He said "Shut the fuck up and you won't have to ask what he just said, bitch!!!" It's enough to drive a man to drink. :beer
Steel Reserves 07-16-2004, 01:12 PM I can't wait to see this movie either. looks wicked good! I would'nt worry that you have'nt seen any reviews, although i'm sure they'll like this one, regardless I NEVER pay attention to what the critics have to say. Most all my favorite movies were frowned on by the critics.
And i hear ya with the chicks. not all of the ive taken but most of alway's, like ya said, pick the worst fukin times to open their traps. Just makes ya wanna :biggun

jackedupcrazy 07-16-2004, 03:47 PM good call Billy!!! lol yeah it looks like a good movie. the only females I bring to the movies are my girlfriends....if I have one. never really had one try to talk a lot during a movie though. what pisses me off is when you're trying to watch sports and they're trying to talk to you....now that gets me mad.
cutmothafucka 07-16-2004, 09:15 PM I'll let yall let me know how the movie is, im not spending money i could spend on gear on a will smith movie. I think it will bomb, but thats just me...who knows could be good...still waiting for reviews
billy732 07-16-2004, 09:44 PM alot of people seem to have problems with will smith movies these days.
T-Bar 07-17-2004, 09:58 AM My review:
The movie gets three and a half stars, maybe even four just for the concept and the action. It could have rocked! But Will Smith just didn't pull it off. He simply doesn't get into a role or into a character. He always comes off as "acting" tough, and he mistakenly thinks that trying to look angry is the same as being tough. Was Eastwood ever angry? Sure but he took action he didn't just walk around trying to look angry.
Now, take away 2 stars for the totally GAY beginning. For some damn reason they felt it necessary to keep showing Smith in his boxers stretching, feeling himself up, and using a 10 lb db to do lat raises. Then when you really started feeling uncomfortable they threw in a scene of him posing in the shower. It didn't fit and was totally unnecessary.
Still, all in all it was worth going to and should do well even if it didn't show one boob in the entire movie. There should be a law against making movies with hot chicks and not showing boobs. Like we go to see their personalities!
Steel Reserves 07-17-2004, 12:36 PM Saw it with the g/f last night. I liked it alot. Thought it had good action, effects and story. I think what i liked most about it was that it's somewhat believable. It's not some super sci-fi set in the way distant future with ray guns and warp speed like star wars. It's set a short time in the future where robots have become part of everyday life, and i think it's only a matter of time before shit like that is a reality. Maybe not by the year 2035, but it'll happen.
I got a kick too out of when Smith was in the diner. If you caught the wall menu you'll notice that in the future a steak dinner will run you $100  And I'm so glad I missed the first few minutes of the movie due to an emergancy piss and starburst craving, I definetly don't need to be seeing Will Smith in a god damn shower.

dimmak 07-18-2004, 04:15 PM Why would he be using a five pound weight? Doesn't this conflict with the rest of the movie? (This is to the people who saw it with out giving anything away.) :blunt

T-Bar 07-18-2004, 10:44 PM They probably even had to hollow out the 5 lb weight for him and fill it with helium! LMAO
Steel Reserves 07-19-2004, 12:27 PM No no no, they weight wasn't even there; CGI special effects! LOL
