View Full Version : Need some help please
Maxipad 09-17-2007, 04:32 PM I need some help please. I am 24 and have done 3 cycles.
The first two were 12 weeks of Test and EQ both followed with
PCT which consisted of Nolva, Clomid and Trib. I felt a little
crappy during both PCTs but I would say fine after that,
I kept most of my weight and still was doing things the regular way. After almost
almost a year off, I decided to try an Anavar only cycle since everybody
raved about trying one and I just wanted to gain some lean mass
and not worry about having to worry about sides or too negative
effects on my own-hormone production. The first week I felt really good, strength
and weight went up and I started becoming really pumped everywhere, then week 2 and
week 3 I started feeling like shit, no sex drive (libido), no erections, no
energy, I felt real lethargic and nothing was any fun anymore. I decided
to say fuck it and quit after the 3rd week. I did the same PCT as usual,
Nolva, Clomid and Trib. I still felt like shit. I thought things would get
better, but I got sick a couple of weeks later with an infection and was
put on antibiotics. After getting rid of the infection, I still had no
sex drive, rarely if ever got morning wood and so I tried some other
over counter supplements that were supposedly good. I tried Red Kat, Paravol,
Myogenx, all with little success. It's been about 4 or 5 months since PCT
and I feel a little better. I started getting some color in my skin again
and gained some weight back that I lost, but still almost no sex drive and rarely
any erections. I did have a one-nighter a month ago, but I feel so disinterested and she still keeps on calling me, every other guy is like wtf? and I'm just not feeling it....
I went to the doc and got my test measured and it was 700 ng/dl which is pretty
good, my free test was 17.2 pg/ml which is also normal.
I am still waiting from the results from the endocrinologist, which
he is sending them to me via mail so I can post those, but he said
the only thing that he sees is high cortisol levels.
I heard that Proviron, cabergoline or Cialis can help, but don't want
to just take something and it end up not helping the root problem.
I would appreciate any input please.
Storm 09-17-2007, 04:41 PM Do you have any other emotional issues; depressed, not interested in daily activities, etc.?
Maxipad 09-17-2007, 04:52 PM I started getting depressed once I started feeling like shit, I didn't want to do anything. I didn't help that I got sick afterwards and started losing weight. I feel better now, but the libido issue is still in the back of my mind.
Anadrol_king 09-17-2007, 05:21 PM sound to me that your cholesterol levels went way out of whack. Also you might have or had High Blood pressure. Both can make your sex drive suck and even if your sex drive is good it will keep you from getting it up. Also on the anavar only cycle taking var for 1 week will not do anything you were getting a placebo effect only. Even at 2 weeks same thing, 3 weeks yes this would be the week var would start to kick in but i dont think you would have noticed it anyways. I think your doing the right thing though, going to an endocrinologist. But I think your going to find that maybe one of your 21 different tests your body produces, is low as well as your cholesterol levels are high on the bad side, even if there a perfect level if the bad is way high and good way low your sex drive and or hardon will not work right. Also you now need to use more blood builders and flax seed oil fish oil, and do a lot more cardio as they are finding now blood flow blood volume and endurance has a huge impact on your hardon and hardness of the boner and time you can keep it up. Anyone can tell you anything here thats right or wrong so make sure you take what ever is said here and then listen to your doctor and weight the 2 and figure out if you need to get a second opinion... I always listen to ppl here and my doctor and then see if he is correct or only half correct and then talk to another doc and go from there.
Storm 09-18-2007, 03:51 PM I think a complete blood work up is in order.
Good luck & keep us posted.
Maxipad 09-19-2007, 02:43 AM I appreciate the positive talk guys, it was very hard for me at first, especially since I didn't think anything like this would happen with anavar.
Here are the bloodwork results, I think the bloodtest was basic, but I'm not quite sure.

What do you guys think?
The only thing out of whack is cortisol...
Storm 09-19-2007, 08:48 AM Cortisol is crazy high. What does the Dr. say. Cortisol is a stress hormone. There are some things you can do to bring it down, but I would focus on the cause rather than the effect. When do you get the endo. report back?
Maxipad 09-19-2007, 04:14 PM yeah he said the cortisol could be from three things, stress induced, taking steroids, or maybe a pituitary cancer.
He also said he very sure I don't have cushing syndrom because I'm very lean and don't have any of the physical features of it.
I didn't tell him that I did AAS. He ordered a follow up AM cortisol test which was done in the morning to see if they are elevated all the time.
He didn't do any endo functions, so I guess I'll have to go back and order those.
What should I ask them to test besides LH, Estradiol, Thyroid, T3?
Storm 09-19-2007, 11:16 PM I would do a complete endocrine panel or at least:
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) Parvocellular neurosecretory neurons
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)
Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) Neuroendocrine neurons of the
Corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) Parvocellular neurosecretory neurons
Vasopressin Parvocellular neurosecretory neurons
Somatostatin (SS; also GHIH, growth hormone-inhibiting hormone) Neuroendocrince cells of the Periventricular nucleus
Prolactin inhibiting hormone
Prolactin releasing hormone
Pineal body produces
Melatonin(Primarily) Pinealocytes
produced by the Hypothalamus
Growth hormone (GH) Somatotropes
Prolactin (PRL) Lactotropes
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH, corticotropin) Corticotropes
Lipotropin Corticotropes
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH, thyrotropin) Thyrotropes
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) Gonadotropes
Luteinizing hormone (LH) Gonadotropes
Posterior pituitary lobe (neurohypophysis)
Oxytocin Magnocellular neurosecretory cells
Vasopressin (AVP; also ADH, antidiuretic hormone)
Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) Melanotroph
produced by the Pituitary gland
Triiodothyronine (T3),
Thyroxine (T4)
Parathyroid hormone (PTH) Parathyroid chief cell
produced by the Thyroid
Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)
Angiotensinogen Hepatocytes
Thrombopoietin Hepatocytes
produced by the Liver
Insulin
Glucagon
Somatostatin
Pancreatic polypeptide
produced by the Pancreas
Glucocorticoids (chiefly cortisol)
Mineralocorticoids (chiefly aldosterone)
Androgens (including DHEA and testosterone)
Adrenaline (epinephrine)
Noradrenaline (norepinephrine)
produced by the Adrenal glands & Adrenal cortex
Androgens (chiefly testosterone)
produced by the Testes
How is he planning to rule out pituitary cancer?
Maxipad 09-20-2007, 04:35 PM he said that a tumor can make an overactive gland which produces higher levels of certain hormones, but that those ranges are a lot higher than mine.
I have the next appointment on Tuesday and will ask to get all my endocrin functions tested as you said Storm. I get the feeling some doctors are reluctant to doing bloodwork if they don't think it's necessary, so I'll just tell him my general care physician advised on that.
Storm 09-20-2007, 11:14 PM You have to be pro-active, especially if your dr. isn't!
i agree with storm, if you dont feel your dr is doing the proper tests or dismissing your concerns, find a new one..these quacks work for you..good luck. keep us posted
Maxipad 09-25-2007, 06:40 PM so I talked to the doc and my AM cortisol was in the normal range.
I'll be getting my other blood results from the LH, estradiol etc. back
the end of this week.
MARTYUSA 09-25-2007, 07:10 PM Keep positive and continue to do the right thing. Although this is the information age, Don't get wrapped up in too much information. It can stress you out even more. But like Storm as said, stay proactive.
Maxipad 10-01-2007, 04:00 PM so I've been feeling a lot better latetly, maybe it's some of the pep-talk from this forum and my blood results, but my blood results came back fine.
Test Result Limit
LH--------------4.4---------- 1.5-9.3
FSH-----------3.5------------ 1.4-18.1
Estradiol-------26------------ 0-53
Testosterone----870---------- 241-827
A/G Ratio------1.7----------- 1.1-2.5
Alkaline, Phos. 63----------- 25-150
AST-------------23------------- 0-40
ALT--------------26------------- 0-55
he also did a basic metabolic panel once
again but those results were almost the same
as the previous one.
The doctor was asking if I was taking anything since
my test was higher than normal, but I haven't taken anything in a while. He also mentioned that looking at the results everything is fine, and that libido is a very touchy subject to understand and I shouldn't have a low libido since my test is high. He also said it could be in my head and the same goes for erections and gave me some viagra samples and said if there is a problem to come see him again. I have the samples, but haven't used them, and I've been actually having morning wood every morning lately w/out the use of viagra or any other supplement, so some of it must have been in my head.
Storm 10-01-2007, 04:43 PM The mind is a powerful thing (wel at least some of ours are)
I'm glad to see your feeling better.
