...how does one start to train, eat, sleep, and; tons of other things that I'm sure I'm missing, for a show. So far the info. that I have is limited. I do have a couple people that have done show before that will be helping along the way. Regardless I want to know as much as possible so I don't make any stupid mistakes...

G.

BTW, this is not 100% a concrete thing, but liking the idea more and more as time goes by. Also what kind of things would I have to give up. The no holds bars training, would it have to wait until after the show to make any respectable strides in the classes?

I'm not really sure what you are looking for...... ???? Are you saying "someday" when I get bigger, I'd like to do a show, tell me how? That is how I read it anyway...... That is WAY too broad a subject to ask...... Hell, there are entire books devoted to that...... I am not re-typing any of them either, so don't ask....:knock

Seriously.... Ask a specific question or two... What do you have to give up? What do you mean, booze, cigarettes, acid, hookers, crack, masturbation, KFC, WWF shows????

All I'm gonna say is if you are going to do something.... Go at it as hard as you can! No sense in pulling any I want do do this or that, but I have to eat pizza.... etc... Either do it, or don't.... You don't want to be second and say I could have been first, but I was a bone head.... All or None!

titan, you have totally mis-read my post. Most likely due to my typing style. Here is I what I was trying to say. I AM going to do a show. Most likely this year. However what I was looking for was information from you guys that would better help me define my focus thus allowing me to know exactly where I was going (in example not eating pork skins two weeks before the show).

As far as giving up things your list doesn't really apply to me (well the hookers and crack does but whos looking).

Basically what I was looking for was some books, links, ideas, anything that would put me in touch with information about doing a show. I wasn't really expecting anyone to type a book here....wouldn't want you to even go to that length...

regardless anyone can give an opinion on AAS usage and possibly put you in left field (with wrong facts). As well as how to do a show, but you guys are who's values and opinions I value most...

g.

p.s. did that clear anything up ?

Playboy, what are your stats etc... Without that nobody can tell you where your at and what you need to accomplish to get into contest shape. If your fat you should start your precontest dieting 16 weeks out. if your somewhat lean you should start 12 weeks out. At the lower level NPC shows conditioning is what its all about, so no matter what come in ripped as hell, dont sacrifice cuts for size.

My first contest is coming up this june, and im fucking psyched for it. ive been going to shows and watching, and now its finally my turn to compete. im 5'9, and i plan on coming in at 190-195 lbs and winning my class. Whether you win or not will all depend on if you hit your peak on contest day or not. It has a lot to do with drugs, diuretics, sodium/potassium intake, water consumption, carb depletion/loading. Ive been studying this shit for years, and im having King Kamali do my precontest planning/ advice/diet etc... so if you have any questions pm me. Buffdiggity would be a great guy to talk to about it also, he's at the national level. Chestrockwell also competes. Peace

hey skeet225, appreciate those words. I've found www.skiplacour.com as a reference site to beging with. Seems to advertise more than give advice but who knows. Also found some good sites on google.com. Things are rolling along well.

stats:
6'2
208lbs
maybe 12% bf

been training since 97 and serious for about two years. done one cycle about two years ago. looking to go to several shows to understand what goes on and how things operate. looking at a show in september or november as my comp. date. just hope this isn't too soon. what I mean by that is to be a race car driver no matter how bad you want it, there is no way in hell you would be able to drive an indy car 200 mphs down the back straight of road atlanta and run record times around the track. you have to start off with something smaller, develope skills and work from there. same with shows. i want to make sure i have enough knowledge at hand before i say this is when i am going to compete. understand??? don't want to get in over my head.

OK, now we are getting some where... There is alot that goes into a show. You definitely need the cuts. Even with your stats we can't tell you what areas of your body are lagging...... DO NOT crash diet starting 4 weeks out... Start 12 to 16 weeks depending on body composition.... IF you have areas of skin that look loose after you diet, rub them with prep H the night or two before the show. Give yourself a couple good coats of pro-tan or the like...... You can spray your self down with pam prior to going on stage......

Posing is VERY important...... If your posing routine sucks, you are done.. So spend plenty of time practicing that... you are scored in pre-judging, the actual show will just be for the crowd, so don't slack in anything you do in pre-judging..... An yes, lay of the damn pork rinds.....

Get some natural diuretics for the week before the show, and drink mad amounts of water.... Dandelion root for example is a natural diuretic......

...this goes hand and hand with the information that I have found from my friends who have done shows. How do I determine what weight I need to be on the day of the show. Still so many unanswered questions....

thanks for the links...

It's not so much a function of weight as it is body composition and water.... If you want to get real technical like that, you need to get an accurate body composition test done. If you are 190 and 16% bf, then do the math. Obviously you can't get down to 1% bf, so figure what you would be at 4%. Then its all about timing, training, and diuretics etc.....

...I have a dilemma on my hands. My understanding is that you are to wait three to five years to do a natural show after your last dose of AAS. This august will be three years for me since my last shot. However when I start dieting for this show I will still be under my three years. I personally don't like the idea of cheating the system. So what would you do if you were I?

Also what do you tell people when they haven't seen you for a while. They look at you and think your hard work is for sure due to AAS? Any thoughts...

Last "natural" show I went to, they polygraphed tested.... With some old man and some archaic polygraph machine.... A guy I know that took everthing walked right in there (after convincing himself he just used "supplements", passed the polygraph and competed..... There were others who obviously were not 100% au natural.... My satisfaction was that this dude ended up standing next to a guy in his weight class that dwarfed him and he placed WAY out..... LOL....
